He is usually referred to as 'America's First Serial Killer' with his own purpose built 'Murder Castle'

I doubt if he was the first American serial killer. I use to have a encyclopedia set called "Crimes and punishment" from "Time life books". It was an encyclopedia set of American killers dating back hundreds of years. I don't have the set anymore but I'm pretty sure that there were serial killers that dated back before HH Holmes.

This was a truly sick and twisted person. You would've thought that a person like this would be more well known and talked about when talking about serial killers
