A pair of weird sea creatures that washed ashore in North Carolina have left wildlife experts scratching their heads and turning to the public in the hopes of identifying the mysterious denizens of the deep. The puzzling oddities were reportedly discovered by workers from the Cape Lookout National Seashore, which oversees parts of the state's barrier islands. Sharing images of the curious creatures on their Facebook page, the department explained that members of their 'turtle patrol' team stumbled upon the two strange objects sitting on a beach and indicated that "so far, we're stumped as to what they might be."

This looks like some type of centipede to me. But, it is always amazing when we find new life. Hopefully they will send this species to the lab to be studied more.

It just seems like there should be more media coverage when we find potentially new species like this. You would think that scientist from around the world would be interested in discoveries like this.

Seriously, there needs to be a TV show about this topic. It seems like every year we hear stories about some strange creature being found or washing ashore. It would be nice if there was a show where they examined the findings and gave us some type of follow-up to the story.
