Simulation Theory

I don't really know much about it. I have heard it referenced more and more in recent years though. The basis of the theory is that we are all living in some sort of simulation. Some believe this simulation is controlled by aliens, others think it is God, some say other humans. What are your thoughts on it and what you have heard of it? Do you think it is possible?

I've heard of this theory before, but I reject it. I don't believe that all of our actions are predetermined, controlled or planned. I believe in free will and I think people have the free will to control their own destiny in life.

I truly hope that this isn't the case. I like to believe that we are in control of our own destinies. If this theory is true, then what would be the point of living if your future is already set.
