Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed was a Hungarian noblewoman and reputed serial killer from the noble family of Báthory, who owned land in the Kingdom of Hungary (now Hungary, Slovakia and Romania).

She has been labeled by Guinness World Records as the most prolific female murderer, though the precise number of her victims is debated. Báthory and four collaborators were accused of torturing and killing hundreds of young women between 1585 and 1609. The highest number of victims cited during Báthory's trial was 650.

Never heard of this woman. Have they told why she and her accomplices were killing so many women? In my opinion, a lot of murderers are sick people who find pleasure in torturing people. Only a few people kill people for money, most murderers are more of psychological causes.

I think this is the same woman that they said use to take baths in the blood of virgins so she could stay young. If this is the case, just imagine how many women died for her to take just one bath?
