Was the world safer in years past than it is today?

Was the world safer in years past than it is today?

People keep talking about how crazy and dangerous the world is now-a-days, but from watching all these serial killer videos when they're killing in the 60s,70s,and 80s, maybe now-a-days are safer.

You make a good point. I'm almost 50 and when I was growing up there wasn't as many news sources. So maybe people felt safe back-in-the-day because they just didn't hear about all the murders and rapes that were happening around them.
