I've heard this theory before and actually believe it. I believe that modern man was genetically engineered to be what we are today by a advanced race

We have similar stories in Africa. Legends of beings that descended from the heavens on flaming ships back when you could not see the blue sky due to mist and fog. Zechariah Sitchin might be onto something there after all.
