Can animals see ghosts?

Anyone who's had a pet (especially dogs) probably have had them sometimes starring off into nowhere barking at something. Could they be barking at a ghost or something that is out of this world?

I think they can. I remember when I use to have a cat and dog as a pet. They would sometimes just stare off as if they were looking at something I couldn't see. And sometimes my dog would start growling and barking at something I couldn't see.

I have read and heard numerous stories where it was believed that animals saw ghosts. Well, it cannot be verified whether the animal actually saw ghosts as the animals cannot speak. However, people believe when animals act strange, that's because they saw ghosts. Interestingly, I have also read and heard stories of ghost animals.
